UML lawmakers obstruct Parliament meeting

KATHMANDU: Even though the government was set to table 15 ordinances, including those introduced by the then KP Oli-led government in the federal parliament today, the Parliament could not function due to obstruction by the main opposition CPN-UML lawmakers.
UML lawmakers came to the well as soon as Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota tried to clarify the demands set forth by the UML lawmakers.
CPN-UML Whip Bishal Bhattarai protested against the issuance of the ordinance.
He also criticized the role of Speaker Agni Sapkota. UML has accused the Speaker of splitting the party.
