Social activists stress on ending child marriage

KARNALI: Social activists have stressed the need for ending social evils as child marriage and chhaupadi customs. At a program organized by Chhetri National Federation here Monday, political analyst Dr Surendra KC said massive public awareness is required to end child marriage in Karnali region.
“Chhaupadi system has put the women at receiving end. Collective social campaign can help end such evils,” he argued.
Similarly, historian Dr Ramesh Dhungel said time has come to protect Masto culture of then Khas state of Karnali.
