Deadline for authenticating Citizenship Bill ends

KATHMANDU: The deadline for authenticating Citizenship Bill sent by the Federal Parliament to President Bidya Devi Bhandari ended as the President did not take any decision on the Bill until midnight on Tuesday.
According to the Constitutional provision, the President had to authenticate the Bill within 15 days.
The Bill has become inactive now, according to legal experts.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota sent the Citizenship Bill to the President’s Office for the second time on September 5.
